Crazy Hair and Carharts!

Our Little Jack has the craziest hair lately!! He has a tons of hair growing on the top of his head, but the sides have yet to catch up. The top stands up unless you put a hat on for a while. Hat hair actually looks better than his regular do! It is pretty stinkin' funny!

We had a great Easter this year! Unfortunately, the Easter Bunny did not visit Jack this year at our house because that wonderful bunny knows that mom and dad are too fat and don't need any candy. Jack did get some summer outfits and diapers from us and then summer outfits from Grandma and Grandpa Westenskow and some baby food and stuff from Grandma and Grandpa Moesser. We went to the park behind my aunt's house and ate and chatted for a few hours! It was very fun! Now that the younger generation are having kids, the easter egg hunts and fun times are returning! It was so cool to see the little ones searching for those eggs!! Then we went to Travis' parents house and ate a yummy dinner and chatted that evening. We took some pictures of Jack and his grandparents, great grandparents and him with his Aunt Crystal, Uncle Courtney and cousin Gizmo!

On a more spiritual note... I am so grateful for our Lord, Jesus Christ and the great sacrifice that He made for us! How wonderful it is to know that I may one day live with my Heavenly Father again and that I will be with my family for eternity! I am grateful for my wonderful family, my wonderful husband, my sweet baby boy and even my sweet dog that is in timeout right now for digging up and tearing apart the roots of the tree in our backyard...I will have to take some pictures! I am truly blessed!

My relatives from Winnemucca, NV bought Jack these cute Carhart overalls not long after he was born and they finally fit! I am a little biased, but I have to say that he is pretty darn cute!

Oh...I wanted to post this picture of my cousin's sweet baby girl, Reagan. Is she not the cutest, daintiest thing ever!!

To Be A Princess...

I had the opportunity of going to Disney On Ice: Princess Wishes this Saturday with my niece, Lexi, and my good friend Annie and her daughters, Baylee and Millie. We had a great time and it was nice to "get out with the girls"! I was afraid that the girls were going to be shy and stick to themselves because it was pretty quiet in the car as we were driving to the ESA (Energy Solutions Arena). But as we were getting out of the car, Lexi and Baylee were holding hands and they were stuck together like glue the rest of the day!

I think that I will always be a dreamer! I love the idea of life being a fairytale!

On a more manly note...well...boyish note, our little guy fell asleep for the first time in the middle of dinner! I think that he got that from his Aunt Crystal! I've heard many stories! It was so funny! He was there and "mmmming" for one bite and the next he was out! Maybe there was some turkey with those sweet potatoes!!

But, who needs baby food when you can choose to dine on some nice and plump baby toes! These are Jack's favorite! He even has to make sure that he has a hold of them when he is nursing, just in case they decide to run away! Funny kid...he definitely takes after his parents!

Mmmmmm...

Well, Jack is now an eater! He loves food! He was very interested when we started the rice cereal...excited when I started adding his fruit flavored vitamins to them and now absolutely in heaven now that he gets to eat food with actual flavors...aka vegetables! He can't get enough and loves them all!! When we start fruits in a few weeks, he is going to be the happiest kid ever!

He is also now a crazy sleeper and he has been spinning circles in his crib! It's pretty funny!

Here is a video of some tummy time...and a little burp!

Why is it cute for babies to burp, yet disgusting for us?? Hmm???

I've been tagged...again!

I have already been tagged, but this is slightly different and last time I only had one blog friend...maybe I will be more interesting this time!

10 years ago...I was a senior in high school praying that graduation would come faster, so that I could work full time and go to college and take even more classes!! I was skipping classes so that I could stay longer at Clark Elementary, where I was a teacher's aide for the music teacher and the co-director of a 4th-5th grade choir. (One of the 4th grade students would become my sister-in-law 9 years later!)

5 things I would do if I were a billionaire... 1) Invest! 2) Buy a house...no, build a house with a huge kitchen and a great big tub...not in the kitchen! 3) Set aside money so that my kids could go to college 4) travel the world and 5) Get my hair highlighted...and keep it up!

3 bad habits... 1) I leave the oven on...a lot 2) I pop my knuckles.. neck... knees... toes... back... elbows... and even the place where my leg connects to my hip! 3) I eat way too many sweet things!!

5 places I have lived...Layton, UT, Evanston, Wy, Christmas Meadows, UT, Logan, UT, Perry, UT.

5 jobs I have had... cook at a restaurant, a dry cleaner, rehabilitation for people with disabilities, a sandwich artist, pizza delivery driver/shift manager, a reading aide, preschool aide, researcher in the Dept. of Special Education at USU, special needs preschool teacher... this is why staying at home with my precious boy is wonderful, but the lack of money flow (from me) is weird!!

Some things you may not know about me... I used to be quite the singer and took voice lessons for 2 years and was in an all girls vocal jazz choir (Miss Alayneous)! I absolutely hate teryaki sauce and am not really that big on Chinese food! I like peanut butter on my apples and my pancakes! I cut my french toast into pieces (like a mom would) before I eat it! I like to watch good movies over and over again, until I have them memorized! I really like quoting movies! My rebellious days consisted of buying chinese food, eating it with my hands and dancing around a fountain (In Evanston) at midnight and wearing a tight "Hawaiian Punch" shirt and posing for pictures with my friend, Kamaile! I have the sweetest husband and the sweetest little boy for my family!!

I tag Traci, Bree, Laci, Kalli and Katrina!! And no touch backs! :)

4 months old!!

Wow! Our sweet, baby boy is now 4 months old...1/3 of a year! It is amazing how fast the time goes! I talked to a lady today with a newborn... and I was amazed that Jack was once that size!!

Jack had his 4 month check-up today. He is now 26 inches long and 14 lbs. 15 oz. This puts him in the 85th percentile for length and the 30th percentile for weight...thus solving the mystery as to why I cannot find pants that fit his waist, but are long enough to cover his legs! I would have never thought that I would have be able to have a tall and skinny kid...a big thanks to Travis' genes!!

Due to Jack's growth spurt, he is officially less than 1 inch away from growing out of his car seat!! His feet have actually been sticking out of the car seat for a week now! So, tonight we took a trip to Babies R' Us and bought him a new convertible car seat...it's pretty snazzy...forward and rear facing, reclining, 5 point restraint, and quick release straps...I'd have never thought that things could get this fancy!! I'll have to take a picture of him in it when we get installed tomorrow evening!

Now that Jack is the ripe, old age of 4 months, he gets to eat real food...cereal that is...Texas tea...oh wait...that's not right. Now, if you don't know what show that is, I am going to feel officially old. Side story: Today I realized that I am no longer a "spring chicken" when I was trying to explain to the 20 year old receptionist at the doctor's office that Jack's real name is John, but Jack is a nickname for John. To try and elaborate my point that ours is not the only John called Jack, I used the example of JFK, who was also a John named Jack. The response that I got was "Who?". Come on...I wasn't even alive when JFK was, but I know who he is!!!

Anyway... Jack really likes eating! I am beginning to think that eating in just a diaper and heading straight to the bathtub is going to be our best option!! I'm still cleaning it out of his nose!

Hats, Hats, Hats!!

Jack and I were playing with hats today! He looked pretty cute and was even laughing a little about it! He was given a hat from his Great-Grandma Norma. He was also given a couple of hats with mittens from his Grandma Sherrie. Then there was a hat and mittens from his Grandma Denise. He is so stinkin' cute!! We just love him!

Tummy time has become very interesting since Jack can now roll from his belly to his back consistently...he doesn't last too long on his tummy! He has also been able to roll from his back to his tummy twice and has becomes "stuck" a couple of times trying! I can't believe how fast he is growing!! We go in for his 4 month check-up on Monday!!

I also wanted to share my beautiful flowers that Travis sent me for Valentine's!! He sent me Peruvian Lilies because I hate roses and think that they are a waste of money. They are so beautiful! I feel pretty special!

BUMBO TRAY!!

Just when I thought I had purchased the most amazing invention for babies ever (Bumbo Chair), I find out that they have the Bumbo tray that goes to the chair! No longer to I have to sit for hours (slight exaggeration) holding up toys for Jack to play with. Oh, no! Now I can sit in front of him for hours watching him play with toys that are sitting on the tray right in front of him!! I think he loves the independence as much as I do!

Also, Jack started rolling from his tummy to his back this week! He has yet to show Daddy what he can do. And now, magically tummy-time is no longer a horrible experience for both of us. Jack has gone from 1 minute of tummy time without screaming to 15 minutes without a whimper!! Yea! He can go even longer when naked! :) He has decided that he likes to be naked now...(Mommy prefers him to be naked on his tummy...less mess!) I can't believe how fast our "Lil' Bug" is growing!
