An Adventure with Daddy!

Travis is over the UTA vanpool that he participates in for work.  This means that he needs to take the van in to be serviced and washed on occasion.

Travis invited the boys to go with him on an adventure to get the emissions tested and to go to the "Bubble Wash" (car wash)!!  They were SO excited!

The car wash that they go to is in Riverdale.  You get out of your vehicle and they clean the inside and send it through the car wash.  Inside the building, there are windows so that you can see the vehicles as they are pulled through...which makes for a very awesome adventure!  They had a great time!  Time with Daddy is fun!

Birthday Boy!

Travis turned the big 3-1 this year!

 He did go to work that day, since it was on a Thursday and he had Friday off anyway.  We had a yummy Chinese dinner that his mom and dad brought, followed by turtle cheesecake!  Yum!

Travis blew out his candle...but Charlie wanted to blow it out too!












And Jack needed a turn!

I made homemade oreo cookies for the boys!

And Sophie even got a bite!

To celebrate his birthday, we took the boys to see "The Muppet Movie"!  It was fun and their first movie theater movie (aside from one summer movie at Walker's)!  We also did a little bit of geocaching...of course!








Happy Birthday, Daddy!  We love you!

10 months!

Sophie is 10 months old today!!  She is growing WAY TOO FAST!

At 10 months, she:

*STILL has no teeth, but the bottom 2 are coming!
*Can walk along furniture and can walk while holding your hands!
*LOVES to talk and jabber...and is finding her screaming voice!
*Can reach the piano keys and loves to play!
*Loves music and will sway to the beat!
*Has decided that "big people food" is the way to go!
*LOVES avocados!
*Can wave goodbye!
*Loves to make messes and pull things off of shelves!
*Consistently says "Dada", "Mama" and "Burp"...well, sort of!
*Is out of her infant carrier and in her big girl convertible seat!
*Has a sick fascination with the toilet and the water within!
*Loves to splash and pester her brothers in the tub!
*Can play and entertain herself for hours at a time!
*Thinks her brothers are pretty silly and laughs at them!

We sure do love you, Fifi!  Happy 10 month!

Carpet!

The carpet gods decided to shine down on us...after we paid them of course!  I have been wanting to get new carpet for about 4 years now!  There is nothing good that can come from 3 kids and light colored berber carpet.  NOTHING!! And there were a few Christmas time incidents that involved puking cheetos and licorice.  I won't go into detail!   
In the carpet's defense, it was the original carpet...so about 11 years old, but it was dirty and nasty and ugly and I had no problem letting it go!  I didn't even say goodbye!
Now, I had it in my head that all you had to do was get your house measured, go in and throw a few scenarios out there, choose and then sign the little checky...and wah lah...you are done.  WRONG! At Home Depot, there is only one person that is "authorized" to see the blueprints...and she is not there after 5!  I will spare you the back and forth and just say that we canned our original plans to put laminate on the second floor and opted to just recarpet the house.

Look at that face!  That is how he has manages to live through all of his destruction!

Sophie- 9 Months Old!

I can't believe that our sweet, little Sophie has been with us for 9 months!  It sure is going fast!  Sophie is such a sweet, yet sassy little girl and we are so blessed to have her!  At 9 months, Sophie:

* Still has no teeth!
* Is an experienced crawler and can even pull herself up on furniture!
* Greets me every morning standing up in her crib!
* Can hold her own bottle!
* Can feed herself snacks!
* Has decided that she doesn't like baby food (now that I have stocked up for 2 months!)
* Has her daddy wrapped around her finger...and mommy too!
* Loves to play with her brothers...even when they don't want her to!
* Loves to babble and talk!
* Will imitate sounds and actions!
* Is sleeping through the night...finally!
* Takes 2 naps a day...but only when she wants to!
* Responds to her name!
* Is an absolute doll and loved by all!!

We sure do love you "Lil' Miss"!

A New Year: 2012

And so 2012 begins!  We are looking forward to all the adventures that this new year brings us!  As for resolutions and goals...all of the usuals with the added goal of keeping up with the blog so that I can print it into a book at the end of the year!  Will it happen?  I don't know!  But I am excited to try and slightly optimistic! ;)
